Where were you born? Where do you live now?
I was born and raised in Norfolk, MA, and currently living in Charlestown, MA. I've lived in Boston since 2006.
Tell us a little about yourself, your hobbies, things you love?
I'm a country-city girl. I love the hustle and bustle of city life, the convenience of having everything at my fingertips, and the ease of scooting around on my bike. I grew up in the country, though - barefoot and climbing trees! I love the smell of fresh, earthy air, the feel of walking around barefoot, and the calm of being outdoors and with nature. Minus the spiders. Ugh... spiders (shiver). Running is my passion. I've been running competitively since high school and now have several half-marathons, 2 full marathons, and soon an ultra-marathon under my belt. If I'm not running the city streets, you can often find me in the kitchen whipping up something delicious. And if I'm not there? It's likely that I've hopped in a car or on a plane and traveled somewhere for a quick trip. The world is big, and I want to see it all! I'm playful. I laugh a lot. I'm quirky and goofy (and always will be). I'm competitive and driven, and although I take my work seriously I try not to take myself too seriously. I can be shy sometimes, but often push myself outside my comfort zone or challenge myself somehow. It's always worth it. :)
Tell us about any accomplishments you have received over the years and/or goals you are trying to achieve?
Last fall I started my own digital marketing and event management business, focusing on working with businesses in the health and wellness industry. It's exciting and challenging, and I'm enjoying the adventure of getting my business off the ground. Everyday there is something new to learn! Since these are big endeavors, my current goals revolve around finding success with my new business and training properly for a fun and successful ultra marathon. At the same time, I don't want to have too narrow a focus and would love to give back to the health & wellness community since they constantly give me so much. This is part of why I'm seeking ambassadorship (besides the fact that I'm a big fan of Gutsey bars!).
Why do you think you live a GutseyLife?
When I read about your description of the GutseyLife and living with courage, determination, and spirit, I thought to myself, "this is me!" It can be intimidating at times, but I find that life is much more fun when I can be myself. I've also learned that my enthusiasm and spirit spread so much farther and more easily when I let it show naturally. Positivity can truly be contagious.
How do you want to help/inspire others?
Part of why I focus on working with businesses in the health & wellness industry is because by helping them find success they, in turn, improve elements of our world. Whether that's in fitness, food, apparel, lifestyle, or something else, I love helping these businesses make a positive impact. Overall, I enjoy helping people. Guiding others on how to lead a healthier lifestyle would feel fulfilling. Introducing or educating them on products that help maintain that lifestyle is a fantastic way to help people form healthy habits. As a runner and fitness enthusiast, I believe I can help you get your brand in front of your target audience and develop lasting relationships with people who will continue to spread the good word about your products and company as a whole.
